Why are men so scared to do yoga?

Men are missing out BIG TIME! I started doing yoga years ago from the encouragement of a friend. I had never given it any serious consideration as I had always associated yoga with women and tight leggings. My macho ego had dismissed such activities as unbeffiting such a manly man as I. However, the first yoga class I took with my friend (a 300 lbs former University of Illinois offensive lineman) left me writhing in pain and sore for days. I was shocked not only at how much balance, flexibility and patience yoga took, but also shocked my friend was able to place all of this body weight onto his hands while lifting his body off the ground. I have continued to practice yoga and found the hour to an hour and a half sessions help develop monster mental clarity. There is a deep focus on breathing and body alignment, which leads to a highly meditative state. The end result is a strong sense of grounding and a workout I never would have guessed you could experience from being on a mat.
