This is a beginner course designed to teach 8 basic forms of Tai Chi Chuan. Tai Chi is known to help develop muscle strength, improve flexibility/circulation and relieve stress. This class will introduce students the basic concepts related to relaxing (body and mind) and balancing. Each class will include basic stretching to warm up muscles and lessons students can take home to practice daily.
The class will include moves requiring students to balance on one leg, transfer body weight from one leg to another and other moves, which some students may find challenging. Tai Chi is meant to be practiced slowly and smoothly. If any students have restrictions to any of these movements, the instructor will help the student modify to their appropriate skill level.
This class is open and encouraged for all ages and people.
